La part des femmes dans la population luxembourgeoise a longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle des hommes. Lors du recensement de la population, des b\u00e2timents et logements de l'ann\u00e9e 1981, les femmes repr\u00e9sentaient encore 51.2 % de la population nationale. C'est en 2014 que la proportion des hommes a d\u00e9pass\u00e9 celle des femmes. La part des hommes est donc en croissance continue depuis plusieurs d\u00e9cennies, ce qui peut s'expliquer par le surplus d'immigr\u00e9s masculins.
