L'\u00e9valuation sur base du phytplancton se fait en 5 classes: tr\u00e8s bon (bleu) - bon (vert) - moyen (jaune) - m\u00e9diocre (orange) - mauvais (rouge). L'\u00e9valuation de l'\u00e9l\u00e9ment de qualit\u00e9 phytoplancton n'est pertinente que pour les grands cours d'eau \u00e0 teneur naturelle en plancton et pour les masses d'eau d\u00e9sign\u00e9es comme masse d'eau fortement modifi\u00e9e (MEFM) et \u00e0 caract\u00e8re d'eau stagnante.
